This is the 5th commission in the GS series and I have purchased and loved. However, the RAR’s are the best yet by far for Midwest winter running. The tighter mesh with DWR coating and gaiter attachments have kept my feet warm and dry through snow, slush and sub-zero windchills. Love the arctic camo design too!

Best Trail Running Shoes!
Most comfortable, rugged, stylish trail running shoes I’ve owned. I run on icy, snowy trails in Minnesota winters and nothing has been able to give me the confidence to run fast on rugged terrain until Speedland. Highly recommend. I will buy again and again.

GS:RAR - AWESOME RUNNING SHOES
I’ve put about 60 miles on these shoes now, and I have to say, they feel great. The real standout for me has been how they’ve eased up the tightness in my left calf. It used to be a nagging issue, but these shoes have helped take the edge off. The materials are top-notch, you can tell just by holding them, and they’ve proven to be worth the price.
The fit is spot on, too. They really hug your foot, even without cranking down the BOA dials all the way. Now, I’ll admit, I learned the hard way that the BOA system can be easy to over-tighten. I had to adjust them a couple of times mid-run while breaking them in, but the good news is that the BOA system is super quick to adjust on the fly, so I was able to dial them in perfectly as the run went on.
Most of my runs are on canals, and I’ve been impressed with how well they perform there, but I’ve also taken them out on the road, and they feel great there as well. I’ve got plans to wear them for a marathon in Napa, CA, and on a few trail runs this summer.
On top of that, I’ve got the Carbitex GearFlex Plate in them. It’s not a massive difference, but I can tell it helps me run a bit faster. It just gives that little bit of extra pop, making it so that slowing down takes real effort. It’s a small detail, but it adds up over time.
