Meet Avery Collins – Speedland Athlete
Avery is a professional trail runner and coach living in the historic mining town of Silverton, Colorado, which sits at 9,318' in the San Juan Mountain Range. Year-round, he spends 30+ hours a week training outdoors, running from peak to peak in the summer and backcountry splitboarding in the winter. With competitive results in races such as CCC, Grand Raid, Western States 100, Tor Des Geants, and more, Avery knows he has only begun to scratch the surface of what's possible in trail running and big mountain adventures. In Avery's words, "I honestly wake up every day with a huge smile on my face, genuinely enthusiastic about life and excited for what's next." This full-send approach to living in the San Juans requires him to critically analyze and select all of his gear in order to stay injury-free and perform his best.
